Hannukkah and the Christmas light connection..

The feast of Light in Judaism and the Christmas light celebration

Christmas is the Feast of the Light of God for billion of Christians all over the world and  for the last 2000 years, man and women with children on Christmas day, light up a green tree with lights of every color, to celebrate the Festival of Light in the middle of the dark winter. This green tree is the symbol of human life becoming everlasting green and fruitful, and the lights are the symbol of the Light of God on Earth, among man.

For many years people have lighten up the Xmas tree and have also exchange gift with each other, to celebrate the victory of God's Divine Light toward the darkness of the world. Christmas comes in the darkest month of the year, and there is no better time to celebrate God's Light, that when the season gets into the darkest hour.

With the fact that many people plus the man desire to make money during this festivity, Xmas has become a feast of presents and all sort of celebrations, the heart of Xmas is the celebration of the fulfillment of Isaiah prophecy, and the promised birth of a baby, the Emma-nu-El to the Jewish people. The tree in every Christian home is always followed by the "baby crib" and the manger with a Holy baby and his parents, a baby that will be the Saviour of Israel. The Star of David born in Bethlem.

Christmas is therefore the Festival of Light, the feast that in Judaism is know by the name of Hannukkah; during this feast the Jew celebrate the Light of the Temple, found again when all seemed lost.

It is not a coincidence that the Jewish people celebrate the Feast of Hannukka in November and that Christians celebrate Xmas in December; when Jesus made a declaration of Himself, He informed everyone that "I AM the Light of the world". Whoever follows Me will never walk in darkness, but will have the Light of Life. Gospel of John 8,12

Christians therefore on the second and most important Feast of Christianity, and celebrates the birth of the man that would bring to the world, the Light of God, the Divine Light from Heaven to Earth, and make this Light available to every man on the face of the world. Christmas is a  2 weeks feast celebration and it's a feast of Joy for every family; in this season we are happy of the Joy of the Lord God, and we thank Him for the gift of His Light to mankind. Finally God's Light is given to man, bringing joy and happiness!

Christiamas fulfills the prophet Isaiah promise given thousand years ago to Israel:

Again the Lord spoke to Ahaz,  “Ask the Lord your God for a sign, whether in the deepest depths or in the highest heights.
But Ahaz said, “I will not ask; I will not put the Lord to the test.
Then Isaiah said, “Hear now, you house of David! Is it not enough to try the patience of humans? Will you try the patience of my God also? Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel, that means God-is with-us. Book of Isaiah 7,10

It is clear from the Book of the prophet Isaiah, that is God that is giving us a "sign" and that is God that takes the initiative to do something for man; for this reason we live in joy for 2 weeks and we share presence with everyone, becouse God's gift of the Light is given to every man on the planet.

Some people have tryed to distort and even undermine this Heavenly Feast, saying that some customs are not really fitted for Christimas, nevertheless Christimas is a feast of joy and happiness and everyone is free to express this joy in every way he likes. The important fact of Christiams is the Light of God offered to man. This is the center of the Celebration and the reason for so much joy and other celebrations related to this time of the year.

Many have pointed that the feast with all the celebrations around it, have lost the real meaning, but this is not the reality and the main focus of Christimas is clear; 2 ot the most beautifull and important Prophecies of the Prophet Isaiah have been fulfilled in the same Feast, and this is the reason of this joyful celebration.

The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this. Book of Isaiah 9,2-7

This is what Christians Celebration for Xmas is all about; it's the Light given to a people that before were walking in the darkness of God, and this Divine light is given for Israel but to be shared with everyone. God is Light and His desire is to share is Almighty amd Heavenly Light to all mankind, starting with His Choosen people Israel. Has Israel is the smallest of the Nations, in His Divine plan God have open the door to the Nation to His Kingdom, to make sure His choosen Nation will enter with the Kingdom almost ready and full of God's Light already.

The Feast of Hannukka celebrated by the Jewish people might have another story to tell, but is the roots of the Christians Festivity of Christmas. Jesus is a Jew and celebrated Hannukka, Passover, Shavouot-Pentecost and Sukkot, and made sure that in place of a festivity, we would already celebrate Him , the Giver of Light, God and the Way of the Messiah. The promised baby that once adult, will give with God's teaching, the Light of God.

Hannukkah is ceberated on the menorah, that is a lampstand with 7 branch, and in each branch there is a light, that every Jew kindle during the festival of Light in Judaism.

Jesus revealed Himself to be the manorah becoming flesh and the Light of God on earth, so that we do not need to kindle the candle anymore, but that with Him- with -us, we have everlasting Light from God. It is not very simple to explain to everybody what Christmas is all about. But one thing is easy to understand: man have walked in the darkness until 2000 years go, without knowing nothing about God, and now a light is risen for every man and woman, that have the desire to walk in the Joy of the Divine Light.

And if this is your desire, you celebrate Christimas knowing that the Light of God is finally available on Earth for free, for whoever man or woman, is walking in darkness. This Christmas also God offers His Divine Light to everyone, and year after year more man and women can celebrate joy and happyness, on Earth.

God desire is that we all receive His Divine Light making us the sparkle of His Divine Light on Earth, to be shared with all mankind:

You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in Heaven. Book of Matthew 5,4

This is the reason for so much joy and happiness in the Christian world, every Christmas season. We are the light of God on Earth and the sparkes of Divine Information for the world. For this reason we sing the famous song: "joy to the world". God's Light is the joy and the happyness for the world!

This is the connection between the light of Hannukkah and the light of Christmas;God's Divine Light in a season of darkness. Human happyness in the coldest season of the year, that warmes up the heart of every man, woman and child of the world. Christmas is all about a virgin woman, and a baby on a crib, just like the Prophet Isaiah foretold in the old times; and a tree with lots of lights, that is the symbol of Divine Light.
