In life we all need directions; to go to school we need to know how to get in the right road, to go to the cinema we need to know the name of the road, to go shopping we need to know where is the shooping center. In all activities we do in our normal life, we cannot get anywhere without directions; the same thing with God.
Soemone very nicely say that, while in all religions man look for God, in Christianity the Good News is that, it is God that looks for man; and this is the pure truth. Man needs to find everything; food, a home, some forniture, medicine, a car, a place to relax. But when it comes to God man cannot find Him, it is God that comes looking for a man or a woman that wants to lsten to Him. For this reason all man efforts to find God is incomplete. If we look around us, streets and train stations are full of directions; if we wish to go in one place, we must go to the right platform, otherwise we go exactely to the opposite direction.
Looking at Creation we can see God's work; the wonderful beach, the mountains, the birds, nature, all speak to us about God; but man need to speak to God, and God wants to speak to mankind. In order to make sure that we know who God really is, we need God to talk to us. Of course God has a voice, and of course God has a face. In our days God has sent His only ONE Son Jesus, from Heaven to Earth in order to speak to every man and woman, of every race and Nation, so that everyone could speak to God.
In the Gospel of John , Jesus made this point very clear:
You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you. John 15,16
God has become accessibile only with Jesus, the Way to the Creator; nobody came down from heaven to talk to us about God, but Jesus of Nazaret. Many have claimed to have found answers from God, but nobody has come down from Heaven to tell us about God, because He/she was with God. Only Jesus did.
We can therefore see that if a many from anypart of the world tells that God has spoke to him, it is not true; God has spoken only in ONE WAY, sending Jesus down from Heaven, His Son, that was with God and know all God's secrets. We do not choose God, is God that choose us. This is the real God!
Jesus was with God, and was sent from Heaven to man, so that He could tell us what he saw in Heaven, what God looks like, how God lives in Heaven and with whom. Who can be a better witness of his wife, if not her husband? and who can be a better witness than a father, if not his son or his wife? Same with God. If someone has not been in Heaven, cannot witness about God, and Jesus came from Heaven to tell us what God is all about.
Jesus explained this concept to man very clearly:
No one has seen the Father except the one who is from God; only He has seen the Father. John 6,46
We can therefore say for sure that none fo the people that have claimed that an Angel spoke to them is real and truthful; they were looking for God, but got no answer and they inventend a nice fairytale about their encounter with an Angel. God does not need to send an Angel, but He sent His Son Jesus. he was always with His Father in Heaven and knows God very well. Jesus can tell all about God! And He did
So when we meet someone in the street, at work, trough mutual friends, in the airport or in the train, we can surely answer when asked how anyone can see or meet God; the Way is Jesus is lived with God and came down to talk to us. And if anyone say that someone have spoke to God, without having meet God's Son Jesus, we know this person, it's only pretending he know something about God Himself.
In our modern society many people invent all sort of stories to feel loved and known, to make himself famose among man and Nations, to gain notoriety; but there is one thing nobody can invent about God. It is God that looks for us, it is God that comes down to speak to us, and not the other way around.
There is only ONE WAY to God, just like there is only one way to our favorite shopping center, our home, the airport; and in order to reach the right place, we need to be to the right platform, the right road.
Jesus is the ONLY WAY to God and the ONLY WAY to Heaven; it's important that we make sure we are in the right direction, in the right platform, in order to make it.
Jesus wanted to help us understand this unique Way, by talking about our home: in our home we have only ONE DOOR, and in order to enter, we must enter inside only trough this mai door. Same for the our friends and guest; when they come to visit us, we open the ONLY front door, and greet our frineds and guest.
For this ONE DOOR there is also only ONE KEY that opens that door, and jesus wanted to make sure we understand the concept of the UNITY of GOD. God is ONE and lives in ONE Heaven, that like our home has ONE DOOR, and to reach it there is ONLY ONE WAY.
Jesus pointed to this explanation in the Gospel, when he say:
I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved.They will come in and go out, and find pasture. John 10,9
God wants us to understand that many of the things that are common to us, the House, the door, the keys of the house, the roads, the directions, the Way home etc, are the same in Heaven, and for this reason Jesus speaks to us in a way very common to man. Nothing in God it's a mistery.
Just before Jesus, Jacob had the same Way to follow, and he saw many decades before the ONLY WAY to God:
Jacob left Beersheba and set out for Harran. When he reached a certain place, he stopped for the night because the sun had set. Taking one of the stones there, he put it under his head and lay down to sleep. He had a dream in which he saw a stairway resting on the earth, with its top reaching to heaven, and the angels of God were ascending and descending on it. Genesis 28,10
God lives in a House, just like we do and we will in Heaven; God has build a house for us in Heaven, just like we had here; God has a door like we do in our home, and he gave us the keys to enter, trough Jesus. Jesus told us that when we go into God's home, He will be the ONLY ONE to open the door, to take us to God's appointment. God has ONLY ONE Son, and He will be the only ONE that will open God's door.
Jesus is the Way, he gave us the direction; it's up to us to trust Him and follow Him, in order to make it, in the House of God. ONE WAY ONLY!
What Jesus has promised is that everyone that enter trough this door, can Go IN and Go OUT as it like it , in total freedom, like only son and daughters can do, in their Father House.
Jesus told us a secret about God:
Jesus the Way to the Father
Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?”
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7 If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.”
Philip said, “Lord, show us God the Father and that will be enough for us.”
Jesus answered: “Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen God the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? Don’t you believe that I am in God the Father, and that the Father God is in me? John 14,5
