The story of Jerusalem has kept people awake, others hopeful, others in pain, but Jerusalem in the all capitals of the World, it's the one always in the mouth of the Nations, for good or for bad. After almost 2000 years, Jerusalem have see the rebirth of his nation and is looking forward for the ribirth of herself, as the Holiest City of the planet.
Jerusalem has seen both her glory and her destruction a few time in history, in a dramatic change of world powers and Empires, happy to take over this city called Holy, and where God's Glory rested for generations; to make sure that man could prove his power, in his will to destroy God's way, and run the world without God's directions.
The Temple of Jerusalem, was possibly the most amazing and beautiful Temple of God that man could have even imagine, and for this reason powerful man and Nations, always wanted to occupy Jerusalem and the Land of Israel, in order to get hold of the magnificent Temple and Land of God. This has always been quiet easy for the Nations surrounding the Holy Land of Israel, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Iraq, Iran, Arabia, Egypt and all the Nations close to Israel's borders. In old times, was the Persians, todays IRAN and the Babilonians, today Iraq and all the other Middle East Nations, including Syria. Israel is a tiny Nation and Jerusalem it's easy to capture. The jews are people of peace and easy to subdue, and for this reason many Empires, even the Romans that were not around Israel borders; but in the greed of man conquest, Jerusalem was always known as the beautiful City of God to capture and conquer. Jerusalem was occupy many times by foreign powers, and the Land of Israel was under foreign occupation, troughout his peculiar and Divine history.
For many decades Jerusalem was almost forgotten and out of the world attention; was a dead land, barren and desolated; nobody would want to talk about Jerusalem. Only until the Nation of Israel, the Jewish State started miraculously, to come back to life.
When Jerusalem, the City where God's peace rested for generations, came back into life, everyone started to talk again about Jerusalem, the City of God; and everyone claimed Jerusalem and tried to submit again the Holy City, into their total control. The Nations of the borders, the same of old but with different political and religious reality, started again the war to divide between themselfs, this Holy City and this tiny Nation. After all Siria, Iraq, Arabia, Iran, Lebanon, Egypt and all Nations around, had gather togheter in coalition to put together their power, in order to capture, occupy, destroy and subjugate this ancient Holy City. And yet again the story today, seems to repeat again.
Jerusalem has become again the target, and the obsession of her neighbors Nations, the desire of world powers and greed, the object of people talk; and the world is split between the love and the hatred for the Capital.
Jerusalem however has been always known as a Holy City and a Jewish city, Capital of the jewish expression of the religion of the people of Israel; and capturing the city for the world powers, means to capture his people, his culture, his religion, his way of life. Capturing Jerusalem means capturing God's Holy City and trying to capture God's creation. This is the reality and the truth behind the love or the strife, against Jerusalem.
One would think that been God's Holy City, people and Nations would be afraid of taking over God's City, but in fact this is not the case for Jerusalem; everyone feels it has the right, and some even the duty, to occupy and take over God's Holy City. In the wake of the modern life, Jerusalem is in good hands and it's in jewish control, but the surrounding muslims Nations are in turmoil for Jerusalem, and they keep a deep desire, to take over the jewish Capital.
Since the miraculous rebirth of Israel, 67 years ago, the Middle East have seen a growing turmoil around the Nations and between them, and the rebirth of Jerusalem a stumbling rock in which many of this Nations, are getting hurt. Jerusalem has become the compulsive obsession of the muslim world, and the fear of the God of Israel has not yet taken over their minds, while they attempt to destroy or falsely take over the jewish Holy City of Jerusalem. Many world powers and Empires could not manage really to occupy the land of Israel and the Capital, so they have invented in our modern time, a way to take over the Holy Land, by the means of lies and pathetic deception.
What the muslim surrounding Nations could not take by force, for their part, had to be taken at least by lies and deception. This tiny Jewish Nation is a stumble rock for their wicked plans and desire of power over Jerusalem. Therefore Jerusalem in the last 70 years, has become the City to love or destroy, to love or to hate, to take or to leave; in any case a city to talk about often, and the only Capital in the world to be slashed out and denigrated by the surrounding muslims Nations, in an attempt to destroy her integrity, her goodness and most of all, her Divine purpose in the area and in the all world.
Jerusalem build as a city that is bound firmly together, to which the tribes go up, the Tribes of the Lord, as was decreed for Israel, to give thanks to the Name of the Lord. There thrones for judgment were set, the thrones of the House of David. Psalm 122
Psalms 122 points straight to the problem, and show us the reason of the obsession of the neighbors Nations around Israel:
Jerusalem is build by God Almighty as a city bound firmly together
Jerusalem is the city where the Tribes of God go up
Jerusalem is the city given to Israel by God's decree to glorify God
Jerusalem is the city of Judgment
Jerusalem is the city where the Throne of God already is set up
Jerusalem is the city of the throne of David
And this very important mission of Jerusalem, its the core of the problem for the surrounding muslim Nations; they wonder why this tiny jewish nation called Israel, should be the favorite of God, while them, with all their power and riches, are not in God's favorite list. For this very reason, Jerusalem is under attack and under constant risk to be either destroyed or taken over.
God in His Wisdom knew it all since the creation of Jerusalem, and for this reason He made sure that He send a message to those nations; and to do that, He called the Prophet Zechariah, and give him a mission. The very important mission to tell everybody, Israel and let those nations surrounding Jerusalem, what is going to happen to them, by reason of their obsession of posessing not only God's Holy Land, but also God's treasure Holy City.
The prophet Zachariah tells us about his mission, a clearly very important mission: let the powers and wicked Nations around Jerusalem know, that God remembers, and that He is going to let those Nations know what he is going to do, about it.
"The Glorious One has given me a very important mission, He sent me against the Nations that have plundered you—for whoever touches you touches the apple of His eye— I will surely raise my hand against them so that their slaves will plunder them". Zecharaiah 2
God could not be more clear about what is going to happen to the muslim Nations around Israel borders. They will be plundered for a simple reason; "Whoever touches Jerusalem, is touching the apple of God's eyes". This is today a special mission also for every Christian; to inform the muslim Nations around Israel what is going to be their destiny. Their unreasonable obsession with Jerusalem will bring to them consequences.
Those Nations obsessed with Jerusalem without a reason, are mentioned in Zechariah 2 like four horns that in the past, have scattered Judah and Jerusalem. God wants to make sure that, the all world knows, who is responsible for Jerusalem destruction. Zechariah 2
Four Horns and Four Craftsmen
Then I looked up, and there before me were four horns. I asked the angel who was speaking to me, “What are these?” He answered me, “These are the horns that scattered Judah, Israel and Jerusalem.”
Then the Lord showed me four craftsmen. I asked, “What are these coming to do?” He answered:
“These are the horns that scattered Judah so that no one could raise their head, but the craftsmen have come to terrify them and throw down these horns of the nations who lifted up their horns against the land of Judah to scatter its people.”
So now it's clear that from the 4 corners of her borders, Jerusalem and Israel has been occupy by the surrounded nations in their obsession of posession of this beautifull place. Not only, but Zechariah makes sure that those enemy Nations know, what is going to happen to Jerusalem, and who will be King of the Holy City.
"Jerusalem will be a city without walls because of the great number of people and animals in it. And I myself will be a wall of fire around it,’ declares the Lord, ‘and I will be its glory within".
Right now Jerusalem is under attack and the same old muslim Nations are trying once again to occupy and take over the Holy City of Jerusalem by force and deception, by menas of defamation and lies. But God makes sure that Zechariah message goes out to those Nations, obssessed with the Jewish Capital of Israel.
It's a very important news, and a very important mission; "whoever touches the jewish people, touches the apple of God's eye, and these way of acting, is bringing to all the muslim Nations surrounded Jerusalem, terrible consequences. At least they will never say that they were not told before, and nobody was send to give to them this very important message: "God's remembers and will not forgive them, for what they are doing in their hatred without any reasonable comon sense. He still remembers Jerusalem and the Holy land of Israel:
"Shout and be glad, Daughter Zion. For I AM coming, and I will live among you,” declares the Lord. “Many Nations will be joined with the Lord in that day and will become my people. I will live among you and you will know that the Lord Almighty has sent me to you. The Lord will inherit Judah as his portion in the Holy Land and will again choose Jerusalem. Be still before the Lord, all mankind, because He has roused Himself from his Holy dwelling.
