Sukkot and the Messiah Palm Sunday connection.

Sukkot, awaiting for Messiah.

The feast of Sukkot is one of the 3 major feast of the Jewish people of Israel; it gathers millions of Jews under a boot and millions of Christians from the Nations, in the Holy City of Jerusalem, year after year.

The Feast of Sukkot in some occasions, on a closer look seems like the Palm Feast celebrated by the Christians, on Palm Sunday, the sunday before the Celebration Passover. The similarities between the two feast are year after year more clear. The Christians celebrate the coming of the Messiah in Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, one week before Passover, where it's Celebrated the remembrance of the Passion of the Lamb of God, that takes away the sin of the world. The two things are celebrated in the same ONE FEAST.

A closer look to the Feast of Sukkot Celebrated all over the Land of Israel, gives us a deeper look to the deep meaning of Sukkot; yes the Jews celebrate the Sukka they had, to live in the desert, but also God was living in a sukka with them at that time, in a Sukka-Tabernacle, and God was with them all the way out of Egypt in a Sukka. Until the arrival to the Land of Israel, God was with them, with his His people; what this tells us then? Does not tells us that God had His Tent-Sukka between and among man? Does not that tells us that, God Himself came down from Heaven, to lived in a Sukka?

It's clear than that the Feast of Sukkot is directly linked not only to the fest of Sukkot, to the Coming of the Messiah, to the Day of Messiah, but also to the the Palm Sunday celebrate by the Christians. WHY?  Becouse this is what palm Sunday it's all about; the Celebration of the coming of Messiah. Already!

It has been interesting a lesson that Rabbi Joseph Mizrachi, a popular Rav in America and in Israel, super famous on the Web, has given in America concerning the Feast of Sukkot; he asked his listener why the Feast of Sukkot is celebrated in Autumn and not during Spring, at Passover. Because in fact he say, this Feast should be Celebrated in Spring time.

The Gospel of Jesus can help us more, to understand the Sukkot- Palm Sunday connection; Jesus was talking to His fellows and follers Jews, and all suddenly he said:

"Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing. Look, your house is left to you desolate. "For I tell you, you will not see me again until you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the Name of the Lord". Gospel of Matthew 23,39

In this contest it's clear that Sukkot is deeply connected  to the Feast of Palm Sunday celebrated in Christianity; the Christians already celebrate the Messiah arrived and the Jews celebrate the Messiah that is to come. This event is nothing more and nothing less than the tent of God back among His people; the Messianic time is a sign of the end of God's times, and God in that occasion will be again, in the mist of His people.

The Messianic expectation of the Jews seems to be the same of the messianic expectations of the Christians; they both await a Jewish Messiah, they both use Palms and perfumes to welcome Him, they both believe firmly that He will show up in Jerusalem, they both celebrate Spring and Autumn major feast, they both await for Peace in the time of Messiah. A deeper look on Rabbi Joseph Mizrachi lesson, tell us that in fact the Jews suppose to celebrate with the Christians, the Palm Sunday feast in Spring. But in fact, they still Celebrate the feast of Sukkot in Autumn, becouse the Prophecy of the Prophet Isaiah, speaking of Jerusalem and about this event, is not yet fulfilled:
"On this mountain the Lord Almighty will prepare
    a feast of rich food for all peoples,
a banquet of aged wine—
    the best of meats and the finest of wines.
 On this mountain he will destroy
    the shroud that enfolds all peoples,
the sheet that covers all nations;
     he will swallow up death forever.
The Sovereign Lord will wipe away the tears
    from all faces;
he will remove his people’s disgrace
    from all the earth.
The Lord has spoken.
 In that day they will say:
“Surely this is our God;
    we trusted in Him, and he saved us.
This is the Lord, we trusted in Him;
    let us rejoice and be glad in Yeshua-His salvation.” Isaiah 25,6

It is not a coincidence that the Christians Celebrate Palm Sunday in the Spring feast God's Festival, in the same way that the Jews celebrate the Feast of Sukkot in Autumn even if it was supposed to be celebrated in Spring for Passover. The quote of the Prophet Isaiah 25,6 tells us very clearly what is the reason why Jews and Christians in fact celebrate the same Feast, they wait for the same Messiah, but they still celebrate in our days this Divine Feast in two separated moment of the year.

There is a time for everything and when the fullness of Time will come, all suddenly they both jews and Christians, will find themselfs together celebrating this Feast with the Messiah in Jerusalem, in fulfillment of this Isaiah important Prophecy.

Neither the Jews not the Christians until today, understand the deep connection of this wonderful Jewish Feast between them; until the Jews calling a t the Messiah more clearly will say: " Blessed is Messiah who comes in Jerusalem, in the Name of the Lord God. In that very moment, like the Scriptures say, the Messiah Himself will " destroy the shroud that enfolds all people, and the sheet that covers all Nations".

They will look at themself, the Jews that in Autumn Celebrate Sukkot and the Christians that in the Spring Celebrate Palm Sunday, and they will than realize that in different seasons, they were longing for the same Person and hoping for the same Messiah. And finally can look at themselfs in their eyes, full of wonder and joy.

This is all that the Messiah is coming to give, to those calling on His Name.
