The Jewish Hight Priest of the Temple of God.

The Hight Priest in the Temple of Jerusalem.

The Hight Priest of God's Temple in Jerusalem was the Highest man position in the House of God that could reach God for the sake of the people of Israel. Moses had the honor to be in this position with Aaron in the Tabernacle, but when Salomon build the Temple in Jerusalem, a High Prist was chosen and put in charge of this great job; be a mediator between man and God.

The High priest had a series of duty to do, but there was one duties that  most of all, had a very important meaning for the people of Israel; be a mediator  and remeber to God, the 12 tribes of Israel. The High Priest would pray on behalf of the children of God, and ask for their forgivness and their restoration.

Like Moses in the desert, the High Priest in the Temple of Jerusalem would present himself before God, and spend some time with Him in a place called the Holiest of Holys; it had to be a Holy and pure ground.

Already in Solomon times, we see that the prayers on behalf of man in the Temple of Jerusalem, was not only for the children of Israel, but also for the strangers, that looking at the magnificent Temple, would recognise that there was a God in Jerusalem that can be prayed by everyone. After the Jews left Egypt, God's plan was already that the people of Israel would one day be the "Light of the Nations" and in order to fullfill this mandate, they had to learn first, Go's Comandments..

Solomon’s Prayer of Dedication 1King 8,22

Then Solomon stood before the altar of the Lord in front of the whole assembly of Israel, spread out his hands toward heaven and said:

Lord, the God of Israel, there is no God like you in heaven above or on earth below—you who keep your covenant of love with your servants who continue wholeheartedly in your way. You have kept your promise to your servant David my father; with your mouth you have promised and with your hand you have fulfilled it—as it is today.
Now Lord, the God of Israel, keep for your servant David my father the promises you made to him when you said, ‘You shall never fail to have a successor to sit before me on the throne of Israel, if only your descendants are careful in all they do to walk before me faithfully as you have done. And now, God of Israel, let your word that you promised your servant David my father come true.

But will God really dwell on earth? The heavens, even the highest heaven, cannot contain you. How much less this temple I have built! Yet give attention to your servant’s prayer and his plea for mercy, Lord my God. Hear the cry and the prayer that your servant is praying in your presence this day. May your eyes be open toward this temple night and day, this place of which you said, ‘My Name shall be there,’ so that you will hear the prayer your servant prays toward this place.  Hear the supplication of your servant and of your people Israel when they pray toward this place. Hearfrom heaven, your dwelling place, and when you hear, forgive.
When anyone wrongs their neighbor and is required to take an oath and they come and swear the oath before your altar in this temple, then hear from heaven and act. Judge between your servants, condemning the guilty by bringing down on their heads what they have done, and vindicating the innocent by treating them in accordance with their innocence.

When your people Israel have been defeated by an enemy because they have sinned against you, and when they turn back to you and give praise to your name, praying and making supplication to you in this temple, then hear from heaven and forgive the sin of your people Israel and bring them back to the land you gave to their ancestors.

When the heavens are shut up and there is no rain because your people have sinned against you, and when they pray toward this place and give praise to your name and turn from their sin because you have afflicted them, then hear from heaven and forgive the sin of your servants, your people Israel. Teach them the right way to live, and send rain on the land you gave your people for an inheritance.

When famine or plague comes to the land, or blight or mildew, locusts or grasshoppers, or when an enemy besieges them in any of their cities, whatever disaster or disease may come,  and when a prayer or plea is made by anyone among your people Israel—being aware of the afflictions of their own hearts, and spreading out their hands toward this temple— then hear from heaven, your dwelling place. Forgive and act; deal with everyone according to all they do, since you know their hearts (for you alone know every human heart), so that they will fear you all the time they live in the land you gave our ancestors.

As for the foreigner who does not belong to your people Israel but has come from a distant land because of your name—  for they will hear of your great name and your mighty hand and your outstretched arm—when they come and pray toward this Temple,  then hear from heaven, your dwelling place. Do whatever the foreigner asks of you, so that all the peoples of the earth may know your name and fear you, as do your own people Israel, and may know that this house I have built bears your Name.

And forgive your people, who have sinned against you; forgive all the offenses they have committed against you, and cause their captors to show them mercy; for they are your people and your inheritance, whom you brought out of Egypt, out of that iron-smelting furnace.
May your eyes be open to your servant’s plea and to the plea of your people Israel, and may you listen to them whenever they cry out to you. For you singled them out from all the nations of the world to be your own inheritance, just as you declared through your servant Moses when you, Sovereign Lord, brought our ancestors out of Egypt.”

In the prayer of Salomon, there was alredy space for "the people of the Nations" and already in Salomon times, the Temple of the Jews was ment not only for Israel but for anyone that looking for the True and Living God, would come to Jerusalem.

In His Wisdom God Almigthy already fortold the Jews and the Kings of Israel that the Nations would and will come to Jerusalem to pray to God and that they would find God's answer to their prayers, to the God of the Armies of Israel.

Solomon, a men of peace himself (this is what is hebrew name means), was the shadow of a future King of Israel, or the Messiah, a man of Peace, a King of Peace. The foreingner would come, ask and get answers from God, just like any jew would do. In this way we see no difference between the jews and the foreigner, as they both would ask and get from God.

Solomon was the man of peace betrween David the King of Israel, and God, and for this reason his Kingdom was a peacefull one and Solomon could build the Temple without any strife or war. All was peacefull in his time, God was in peace with Israel and the Israel with God; this is the image of the final peace between God and man.

In Christianity all this story fortells the story of the Messiah as a man of Peace, The King of Peace of all Humanity, having Salomon included already all foreign Nation into the House of God. King Solomon is the forshadow of the Messiah of Israel and Peace Eternal is what he will bring with him to the Jews and the alla World.

Yeshua- Jesus of Nazaret perfectly fits into this position, the Gospel tell us. In the letter written to the Jews, Saul very well explains this content to his jewish fellow, talking about the Hight Priest and comparing the Hight Priest position, to the Messiah himself that will cover both positions; the position of a Priest and the position of the King of Israel.

Jesus the Great High Priest

Therefore, since we have a Great High Priest who has ascended into heaven,[f] Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess.15 For we do not have a High Priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive Mercy and find Grace to help us in our time of need. Hebrew 4,14
The Messiah is therefore, all that Israel could ask for; a great Prophet like Moses, a warrior like Joshua that would gather the 12 Tribes in the land, a Big Shepard like David, a man of peace like Solomon, a Prince of Peace like Solomon, the son of King David and a High Priest.
His name as "son of David" is directely linked to Solomon, the son of peace between man and God, and son of the King of Israel that brough the peace of the jews in his time. The Messiah, son of David will also bring Peace in His time.
Solomon was acting in fact has the King of Israel and the Hight Priest, for the prayer of the King is very powerfull for God. And while his father King David would get a prophet to tell him what was good and what whas wrong, from King Solomon Reign, there was direct access to God Almighty!
For this very reason the Messiah takes both positions; King and High Priest.
it is extremely importanto to understand the difference between King David era, and King Solomon, his son era. Since Solomon builded the Temple, he was acting has Priest and has King as well!
The awaited Messiah of the Jews is someone that will listen and answer the prayers of the jews and the gentils, the foreigner; he will be a man of Peace and He will bring Everlasting Peace to both, Jews first and the people of the Nations of the world.
In Christian theology the Messiah that came already for the 1 st time, and was called "son of David", fulfilling all the anchient prophecies, it's already the High Priest that not only makes possible for the foreigners to have their prayers listen to and answerd, but having the position of Prince of Peace, works already in the Seat of Mercy of God, for both, Jews and the people of the Nations, in order to hear and listen to the prayers of the jews and the foreigners in our time. The Messiah that the jewish people call to come, is the same Messiah that is already listening and answering the prayers of the people of the world.
He is already acting has a High prienst in favor of the Nation of Israel, and been like Moses, a friend of God and Solomon the son of David, he brings peace between jews anf Foreign Nations in order to fulfill his Ministry of High priest of God.

The High Priest was the only man who could get closer to "the Fire of God", like Moses did in the desert, and the Messiah has already fulfilled also this duty: "one who is more powerful than I will come; He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.  His winnowing fork is in his hand to clear his threshing floor and to gather the wheat into his barn, but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.” Luke 3,15
Now its quiet clear that only the High Priest could go near the Holy Fire of God and that Yeshua- Jesus of Nazareth perfectely fulfills this position. No other man in this earth was talked of the Law of Moses, was ever called "Son of David", God of Peace and fulfilled the duties of the Hight Priest in Jerusalem, except Him Jesus the Messiah and the King of Israel. He perfectely can take all the positions, of the best man of Israel ancient history. And there is a Name above all the names under the earth; the Name is Yeshua- Jesus of Nazaret of Christianity.
He is the High Priest in Heaven listening and answering already all prayer of the people of the all Nations, fullfilling the prayer of Solomon, son of David.
The King of Peace and the King of all Nations, the King of God's Glory!
